The NHL season is in full swing. Here are our power rankings after the games so far this week...
1. Canadiens: Not much to complain about in Montreal these days, even if the power play -- typically the league's best -- is ranked a meager 19th.
2. Sharks: Devin Setoguchi leads the attack with seven goals and a dozen points, which offsets the slide of Jonathan Cheechoo, who has just one assist over the last six games.
3. Red Wings: As Chris Osgood has been mediocre early in the season, backup Ty Conklin could work his way into more time for the Wings.
4. Sabres: A couple of losses knocked the Sabres out of top spot, but the fall was mitigated by the Sabres getting Tim Connolly and Paul Gaustad back from injury.
5. Rangers: Young Rangers D Daniel Girardi is easily overlooked, but he's a good puck-mover who is physically strong in the defensive zone and he keeps getting better.
